SPRINGTIME TAPAS
The word “tapas” is derived from the Spanish verb tapar, “to cover”. Long ago, a small, thin slice of bread or meat was used as a “cover” so that fruit flies would not get into their glass of wine. Legend states: a “server” walking past, plunked an olive on top of the “cover” and the first “tapa” was created. Join us as we create a variety of seasonal tapas such as: Roasted asparagus, prosciutto & herbed goat cheese crostini, Feta cheese, caramelized onions and tomato tart, Grilled lamb skewers with mint pesto, Grape leaves stuffed with rice, pine nuts and apricots, Chicken skewers with spicy peanut sauce, Roasted prawns with cilantro lime aioli, Spice-crusted salmon with Greek yogurt, and…Vegetable samosas with mint and jalapeno chutney. Don’t miss these fantastic recipes for everyday mealtime or special occasion entertaining.

"Chef Laurel's cooking class was one of the most enjoyable evenings I've had in a long time. Good atmosphere, great food, and top-notch instruction that I took home to my kitchen and really used! Next time I'll be bringing my wife!" -Todd Wekkin

"The class was very informative and fun! It was amazing to watch a group of strangers become friends through cooking. Laurel made everyone feel at ease.  I definitely recommend the experience." - Kim Peterson

"I loved the whole night because I went into the kitchen not knowing anything, and left feeling more confident in myself and taking a chance at making any recipe. I also loved working with others and getting to know them while creating something special. Enjoying the sights and sounds of creating something that you get to taste in the end was really fun." - Ann Rienders

"My night out with a cooking adventure was wonderful, thank you so much for doing this. I am a same-old-same-old thing for dinner kind of cook and have craved a class like this for a long time. I knew about the classes in Stillwater but it was just not practical for me at the time. Beginning in September I will be an empty nester and I look forward to this new phase in our lives. Cooking with Laurel will be a staple on MY calendar for sure!" - Anna Mayer

"It was a wonderful class...and one that keeps on giving as I have already made Laurel's recipies at home for friends and family." - Sally J. Pathos

"I have attended Laurel’s Dinner’s On classes on more than one occasion. I have found Laurel’s presentations to be passionate and educational. Her menus are creative and the hands-on approach provides you with the assurance that you can apply what you have learned upon returning home. I highly recommend Laurel and encourage others to take advantage of the unique service she offers our community. You will not be disappointed!" - Laura Schick

First, I would like to say what a great time my colleagues and I had at our Christmas party cooking class with Chef Laurel and her helper, Dorie! Without exception, all of us not only enjoyed your recipes but also your method of instruction and sense of humor. You both are so much fun, thanks for letting us let our hair down! You made three hours seem like less than one. The classes were "hands-on," working side by side with Chef Laurel, with time to sip good wine! I have also attended her individual classes and find Chef Laurel’s Cooking Class truly lives up to the promise of "do-it-yourself" culinary elegance and memorable dining. The food is incredible and what you learn is invaluable... and easy to replicate back home." - Patricia J. Markin, Investment Consultant, Wachovia Securities
